Krista is a writer and historian. She began spouting off hot takes on how she viewed historic women on her college campus and has not stopped since. She believes history can be applied to life experiences today and hopes to help others be inspired by the strong women who walked before us.
Krista lives, works, and podcasts in Austin, Texas. She’s available to travel for speaking engagements throughout the United States and abroad.

This blog is my creative outlet to publish history in a way that’s less classroom style and more applicable to life today. I’m so happy you’re here and would love to learn more about you—so please send me a DM or an email if you ever want to chat!
Basic Background
Hey all! I’m so excited you’re here! My name is Krista Everson and I’m a Minnesota born-Jersey Girl Raised-Texan now. I spent my youth growing up as a pre-professional dancer outside the skyline of Manhattan. I grew up in ballet shoes, and a nose in any history book I could find. I danced until the age of 19 having done some dancing in West Palm Beach, before deciding to pursue history as a degree.
Today, I live in Austin Texas with my fiancee Dylan & our fur babies River (the handsome black lab) Basil (the beautiful golden), and Duchess (my mini Siberian cat). All of my free time is normally spent on them or spending time with my friends at Ballet Austin or my family, who, along with my faith, are at the center of my life.
I tend to dress like I’m still ready to bust out in a 5,6,7,8 and tend to live in Lululemon, I decorate like I live on a tropical island, and I love to travel to places that are full of history and culture. I am a Enneagram 2: Helper who likes to be type Triple-A and I try to view every situation through optimism and a sunny lens. You can usually find me with my laptop in one hand and a glass of iced coffee in the other…
I believe we must never underestimate ourselves and live by one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever gotten was, which is “Say, what you can’t.” You must be your own advocate, ignore the haters, and treat everyone with kindness because you never know what battle they may be fighting.
I want to be here to help you, however I can, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have a question, are looking for advice, or just want to chat! xx
History Background
My love of history began when I was a little girl and always begged my mother to take me to museums or read me a history book about a medieval princess. I read every America Girl book under the sun, dressed as Queen Elizabeth I in the third grade (thanks Mom for letting me use your wedding dress for a school project), and woke up at 4 am to watch the pre-shows of William and Kates Royal wedding. What can I say, I was obsessed.
When I went to college at Southwestern University in Texas, I began a pursuit in Media Communications and History. Throughout my history career, I’ve combined both because I believe media is both a great and harmful tool in our memory of the past. It was here that I made lifelong friends and had the best study-abroad experience in London a girl could have ever asked for. I’ll be writing blogs about my college experience, my adventures with my best friend and history lover Haylee, and giving you all my tips on study abroad programs because of my time being both an attendee and office worker in the study abroad office.
After graduating in 2018 I was accepted into Liberty University’s history program and completed my masters in 2020. Liberty was hands down some of the best years of my life. I met a new history friend Cloe and had unbelievable adventures abroad and across the US with her. Her passion for museums and love of learning inspire me to this day.
Once COVID-19 hit I returned home and continued my studies in history online. I’ve now reached the final year of my PhD program and can’t wait to complete my dissertation on the Implications of Miscarriages on Tudor Women with my case study being Anne Boleyn herself. Stay tuned for updates on that and my travels in London for sources.
Apart from that in regards to history, I have had the honor of working in some museums, being a part of the DAR, and also a part of the Daughters of American Witches, which is why I have the picture of Salem over there. I’ll reveal who my ancestors are in upcoming posts but encourage everyone to learn about their own history and family tree.
I hope to use my history degree to teach, research, and inform others of the past. This blog specifically seeks to help us understand others, and ourselves better through history. Please email me with any thoughts, questions or suggestions on posts you’d like to see.
FAQs

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I went to Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. It’s 20 min outside of Austin, surrounded by gorgeous cedar trees and looks like a mini Hogwarts. It’s strong in the liberal arts and the professors make a point to know all their students. If you’re truly looking to learn and have someone invest time in you it’s the only place I’d consider.

LIBERTY! I’m a Flames girl through and through. My time at Liberty was amazing. In the grad program the classes are small enough that you get that one on one attention you need. They also prepare you to teach any field of interest, invest in your own interests and truly care about their students. It’s also a train ride away from DC where you can do tons of research and get connected with a lot of museums.

I’ve helped curate, give tours, and help education programs. I also TA while at Liberty.

I own my own Executive Branding Company and ghost write for multiple CEO’s, business professionals, athletes, politicians and more.
